ON THE BOARDS: Fallkill Commons on Rose is a new affordable housing development on the Fallkill Creek in Poughkeepsie, New York. The project features the first segment of the Fallkill Trail, an ambitious plan by Scenic Hudson to create a walkable path with connections to Poughkeepsie’s urban core. Outdoor rooms are created using the articulating edge of the Fallkill Creek to create plant masses, waterfront overlooks, and shady birch groves. The result is an urban landscape that feels bigger and richer than its size and is grounded firmly in its Poughkeepsie roots.
