Brookline Traditional, Brookline, Massachusetts

The landscape of this new classically inspired home builds off the architecture to create a series of modern outdoor ‘rooms’, each with a unique character and form.  The front entry court creates a raised plinth for the house to receive guests, overlooking the street.  The central courtyard is enclosed by a stone dust bocce terrace within a birch allee.  The central courtyard unites the house with its first level living areas, with the adjacent pool house and spacious lawn.  Overhead string lights and a fire pit round out the minimalist setting.  A smaller intimate space with a fountain is found off the study.  A green roof helps the pool house recede into the landscape.
