This modern family home was sited in a meadow and oriented to capture views of the surrounding agrarian landscape. WHLA worked closely with the architect and owner to develop a master plan for the home to accommodate family gatherings, entertainment, and retreat. Outdoor rooms are formed by the architectural lines to include a honey locust bosque, an outdoor fire pit area, and patios for both socializing and quiet reflection. A modern hardscape and minimalistic planting design compliment the architectural materials. Large mature native trees anchor the home in landscape creating a sense of permanence. The house and landscape draw on the region evoking a modern sense of place.
