Sara Bonacquist
Sara is a landscape architect with over a decade of experience designing and managing projects across the United States. Her work ranges broadly, encompassing parks large and small, urban design, master planning, resort and hospitality, campus design, and residential gardens. Sara strives to bring curiosity, humility, and creativity to her practice—seeing each project as an opportunity to tell a story of spirit and place.
Growing up in New York State’s rustbelt, Sara was inspired by the history and richness of both the natural and industrial landscape. She witnessed first-hand the power of design to transform communities as investments in public space helped to revitalize her hometown and surrounding cities. She went on to study planning and landscape architecture at the SUNY College Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University where she received a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture.
Prior to joining Wagner Hodgson, Sara practiced at Design Workshop in Denver, Colorado. She is the Past President of the Colorado-Wyoming chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, has served as juror for several design awards, and is a frequent guest critic and lecturer at universities. Her work and practice has received awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects Colorado-Wyoming Chapter.
